Work call over young volunteers
Ministers should recognise voluntary work as a proper job-seeking activity, a cross-party report has said. The Morgan Inquiry said inflexible unemployment benefit rules deterred jobless young people from volunteering. The panel of MPs and experts also called for a day a year off work to encourage volunteering, and an award scheme to recognise skills gained. May08

NCB Northern Ireland co-hosts 5 nation Play Policy Summit
On Wednesday 12 September, NCB Northern Ireland co-hosted the 5 nations Play Policy Summit with PlayBoard. The purpose of the Summit was to stimulate debate and dialogue on the development and implementation of creative Play Policies that will benefit children and young people in each of the five parts of the British Isles.
